Robert Geller is one of the most accomplished and polarizing menswear designers of the past decade—divisive, maybe, but never boring. After earning substantial critical acclaim as half of the beloved Cloak, Geller debuted as a solo menswear designer in Fall 2007. He has enjoyed an enormously successful run since then, collaborating with Common Projects and Levi's and earning a heap of awards while steadily honing his aesthetic. He draws inspiration from visual art, politics, and architecture, and his style has matured nicely, becoming more confident and subdued over the past half-decade. He mixes European romanticism with gritty, urban imagery in pursuit of a body of work with a strong narrative and an aesthetic that's clearly his own. And while you can bank on each collection containing a few challenging, eccentric pieces, they also rely on versatile staples such a his dip-dyed sweaters and five-pocket jeans.
